Currently, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services has a lien on the property securing a civil penalty assessed against the former owner for hazardous and solid waste violations at the property. The Town has worked with DES for many years in addressing the conditions on the property. Currently, there is a Groundwater Monitoring Permit ("GMP"), issued on July 3, 2017, that lists the Town as the permittee. As part of the Sale, DES is willing to release the lien on the condition that the buyer becomes the permittee of the GMP after the sale. This is a material condition of the sale.
